Reservations, sales, and marketing help people find a property that fits their travel needs. Depending on the role, work may involve reservation support, group inquiries, business relationships, approved offers, or keeping published hotel information current. Clear communication matters at every stage: understand the request, confirm what the property can support, and hand over the details needed to deliver the stay. Rates, arrangements, and commitments must follow the relevant approval process.
What you’ll do
- Respond to assigned reservation, group, or business travel inquiries and gather useful requirements.
- Check dates, room needs, and property information with the appropriate operating team.
- Prepare accurate proposals, correspondence, or reservation records within approved terms and authority.
- Support local business relationships and keep follow-up notes organized.
- Maintain assigned listings, descriptions, or promotional materials using approved brand information.
- Coordinate confirmed arrangements and changes with the colleagues responsible for the guest’s stay.
What you’ll bring
- Write and speak clearly, and listen closely to what a traveler or organizer needs.
- Be accurate about availability, rates, facilities, and what has or has not been confirmed.
- Track follow-up reliably and protect guest and business contact information.
- Understand that a successful offer needs the property’s operating support behind it.
Brand standards & training — every hotel
- Follow the standards for your location. Use the applicable hotel brand standards, company expectations, and property procedures for your assigned work. A brand or location change may bring different systems or steps; learn the current requirements instead of assuming every hotel works in the same way.
- Learn before you take responsibility. Complete assigned orientation, role training, and procedure updates. Ask for clarification, practice as directed, and work within your training and authorization. Let a supervisor know when you need more guidance or support.
- Treat people with care and respect. Communicate professionally with guests, colleagues, and service partners. Listen, protect people’s dignity and privacy, and bring concerns to the appropriate supervisor through the property’s process.
- Keep safety, hygiene, and security part of the work. Follow the safety, cleanliness, access, key-control, and emergency procedures relevant to your role. Use equipment and products as trained, and report hazards or incidents promptly instead of working around a known concern.
- Be reliable and keep the team informed. Follow the agreed attendance and communication procedures, prepare for assigned responsibilities, and communicate changes or delays promptly. Coordinate with other departments and give clear handovers so important work is not missed.
- Be accurate and protect information. Record work, transactions, room status, and other assigned information honestly and carefully. Follow approved payment and data-handling procedures, protect confidential information, and correct or report mistakes promptly.
- Take care of the property and its resources. Use rooms, equipment, supplies, and company resources responsibly. Keep work areas organized, report damage or shortages, and follow purchasing or repair approvals rather than making commitments outside your authority.
- Ask, improve, and follow through. Receive feedback constructively, share useful observations, and check that assigned actions are completed. Escalate matters beyond your authority and make the next step clear to the person taking responsibility.
